Brief
Every third year, the world’s largest trade fair for the building industry, Bauma, takes place. Our client FLS asked us to design their booth and the content. This had us excited, since we believe it is the best way to create meaningful communication as design and message go hand in hand. Unlike some of our other client’s more delicate industries like pharma, mining is big and heavy. Therefore, the design had to be bold and eye-catching with lots of movements and effects.

Progress
During a previous exhibition with FLS, we designed a projection mapping installation but as this was very sensitive to light, we converted it to a 6-screen set up that can work in any light conditions. The screens were placed in layers and built into the wall, making it almost into an art piece.

Results
There are so many ways to use a screen outside of the traditional way. For this booth we used both square and round screens to add effect and dimension on the walls and under FLS machine models. In total we had an impressive 26 screens!

Reflection
Bauma was truly an experience for us. Not only did we get to build an amazing booth, but we also learned a lot about the mining industry. It is safe to say that no other exhibition takes up as much space as Bauma with its 600,000 square meters!
